Fine art in acrylic.
There is a prejudice in the art world that oil is more serious than acrylic. This campaign seeks to remedy this bias by associating respected modern artists who use acrylic with the Liquitex brand, which aims to appeal to artists and collectors. While seeming to be humor directed at artists, I believe subconsciously the association between the Liquitex brand and famous acrylic artists will elevate artists view of the medium. The intended advertising medium of this ad would be gallery catalogs and art magazines, furthering the association of Liquitex with fine art.
